Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. Since the late 80s she has been working in television and film. The actress has won numerous awards including sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised by her aunt in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was born and grew up at home in New York New York. As Bassett was about five, she and her sister relocated from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida where they lived with their mother who had been divorced from her father. Bassett, while in high-school watched John Steinbeck's production Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she was inspired to be an actor. Yale University New Haven Connecticut, where she received her bachelor's degree in African American and master's degrees (1983). At Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American Studies) in 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the major characters in the action-adventure film i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
